Everton will be looking to build on their 7-1 thrashing of Sunderland with another convincing victory when they travel to Portsmouth in their next Premiership match on Saturday.

The Toffees romped home to their biggest victory in over a decade as Yakubu and Tim Cahill bagged two goals each while Steven Pienaar, Andrew Johnson and Leon Osman got one each. The win lifts Everton 8th in the league table with 23 points from 14 matches.

David Moyes will be hoping that his team will maintain a similar level of performance throughout the season as he looks for a second successive European qualification come the end of the season. Everton have won three of their last four league matches and will be confident of maintaining their form when they face Portsmouth on the weekend.

Meanwhile Portsmouth have had a great start to the season that has seen them emerge as a genuine candidate for a European slot come the end of the season. Pompey are currently sitting sixth in the league table with 26 points from 14 matches and have not tasted defeat in nine matches.

With manager Harry Redknapp refuting speculation over his possible appointment as the new England manager, Pompey fans will be looking for a successful future under the 60-year old.

Portsmouth had managed a 2-0 win in this fixture last season and Redknapp will be hopeful of a similar result this time around.
