Partizan Belgrade will look to book their spot in the third qualification round of the UEFA Champions League when they host Welsh champions Rhyl in the second leg of their second round tie in Belgrade this Tuesday. Partizan showed their class as they destroyed Rhyl 4-0 in the first leg at Belle Vue. Former Schalke defender Mladen Krstajic opened the scoring in the 17^th minute after George Horan had conceded a free kick for a foul on Lamine Diarra. Just a minute later, Partizan took advantage of Gareth Owen's misplaced pass and Brazilian Cleo headed home the second from Brana Ilic's pass.

Senegalese forward Diarra made it 3-0 at the stroke of half time, and captain Nenad Dordevic headed in the fourth twenty minutes from time. The Serbian champions were clinical in their finishing, and that proved to be the difference between the two sides.

The two early goals proved to be Rhyl's undoing. To their credit, they played well, and had a decent last quarter from which they deserved a goal. Luke Holden had a good game, and created several opportunities which the home side were unable to capitalise upon.

Rhyl were managed by Osian Roberts for the tie as regular boss Mike Bickerstaff was unavailable due to family commitments. In the first leg, they were beaten, but they did manage to make the Welsh Premier League proud with their efforts.

Partizan should win this tie, and progress to a third round meeting with either EB/Streymur or APOEL, most probably the latter. Rhyl are playing for pride and football, as you know, is a funny game.
