The Bianconeri had an excellent start to the season but have lost their way in the recent games and find themselves nine points behind league leaders Inter Milan. Juventus slumped their third defeat in four games as they suffered a shock loss at home to Catania in their last match.

Hasan Salihamidzic sparked hopes of a late comeback by Juventus by leveling the scores only for Mariano Izco to grab the winner three minutes from the final whistle and condemn Juventus to its first home defeat to Catania in more than 45 years. The defeat has increased the pressure on coach Ciro Ferrara who has been tipped to get the sack sooner rather than later. A number of big names have been linked to the post including Rafa Benitez, Guus Hiddink and Luiz Felipe Scolari though all the three of them have rejected the speculation linking them to a move to Italy.

Meanwhile Parma coach Francesco Guidolin will be hoping to take advantage of Juventus’ poor run of form and move into the top four of the table with a victory on Wednesday. The Crociati have been impressive so far and with half of the season gone they have emerged as a serious challenger for a place in next season’s Champions League.
