Jose Mourinho makes his Champions League debut with Inter Milan on Tuesday when his side takes on Greek club Panathinaikos at the Athens Olympic Stadium. Live Sport Network is the leading online source for all live Champions League action.

 

 

The former Chelsea boss replaced Roberto Mancini in the summer with the sole intention of improving Inter's performance in the Champions League. Mourinho twice took Chelsea to the semi finals of the tournament before losing to Liverpool on both occasions.

Inter suffered defeats in the opening match of their Champions League campaign in the last two seasons but Mourinho will be hoping that his side will get off to a perfect start this time around. Inter managed to reach the quarter finals just once in their last three seasons and were dumped out of the tournament in the knockout stages in the previous two editions.

 

 

Panathinaikos coach Henk ten Cate will be looking to improve on his side's poor record in the tournament that has seen the Greek club fail to progress to the knockout stages in their last three appearances in the competition, having last played in the Champions League back in 2006.

Panathinaikos qualified to the group stage after defeating Sparta Prague by an aggregate of 3-1 in their third qualifying round clash. ten Cate's side won the away leg 2-1 thanks to an own goal by Stepan Kucera and Simao while Rodrigo Souza scored the only goal of the second leg in Greece.

 

 

Mourinho has already pitted his wits against Panathinaikos back in 2003 when he was the Porto manager, beating them 2-0 in the second leg of UEFA Cup quarter finals after losing the first leg 1-0 in Portugal.
