PSV will be fancying their chances after being clubbed with Liverpool, Marseille and Atletico Madrid and coach Huub Stevens will be optimistic of his side's chances of progressing through to the knockout stage. The Dutch side had finished third in the group stages last season and going as far as to the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup before being dumped out by Fiorentina.

This will be Atletico's first Champions League appearance in more than 11 years with the Spanish club last taking part in the tournament back in 1996-97 season where they were knocked out of the quarter finals by another Dutch team, Ajax. Atletico coach Javier Aguirre will be hoping to change his side's poor record against Dutch sides in Netherlands with the club managing just one draw from their four previous visits.

 

 

Atletico Madrid qualified for the Champions League after finishing fourth in the league last season and though they had a scare after losing the first leg of their third round qualifier against Schalke, a 4-0 win at home in the second leg ensured that they will be taking part in the group stages of the tournament.
