Laurent Blanc will be looking to continue his excellent season as the Bordeaux manager by taking a big step towards qualifying to the quarter finals of the Champions League with a comfortable victory over Olympiacos in their knockout stage clash on Tuesday. The French champions have the best group stage record in the competition, dropping just two points in their six group games. Bordeaux have already beaten Bayern Munich and Juventus in the group stage and Laurent Blanc will be confident that his side can successfully see off the challenge posed by Olympiacos and qualify for the quarter finals.

Bordeaux’s domestic match against AJ Auxerre on Saturday was postponed with the French federation deciding that Blanc’s side needs to be fully prepared for the Champions League clash in the midweek. Alou Diarra continues to remain a serious doubt for the match with the midfielder yet to recover from a groin injury.

Meanwhile Olympiacos coach Bozidar Bandovic will be hoping that his side can maintain their good home record in the competition and register a vital victory on Tuesday. The Greek side finished second in their group table, five points clear of Standard Liege and much of their success in the group stage was thanks to their excellent home form that has seen them win all of their three games at the Karaiskaki Stadium.
