The Greek champions will be appearing in the knockout stage of the Champions League for the first time in nine years after a string of impressive performances in the group stage. Olympiacos finished level on points with Real Madrid but were placed second as Madrid had a better head to head record.

Olympiacos will be looking to improve on their record against English clubs after registering two wins in 14 matches played so far. The last time that Olympiacos faced an English opponent was back in the 2004-05 season when they beat Liverpool 1-0 at home but lost 3-1 at Anfield.

Meanwhile Chelsea boss Avram Grant will be looking to maintain his unbeaten run in the Champions League with the Blues managing to avoid defeat in the 5 matches played under Grant, conceding just one goal in the process.

Chelsea finished top of Group B with three wins and three draws conceding just two goals in the group stage. The Blues were knocked out in the semi finals last season with Liverpool going through to the final on penalties after both the teams registered 1-0 victories in the two legs.

Grant will be hopeful of providing the ultimate prize and not only please owner Roman Abramovich but also become a firm favorite with the Stamford Bridge faithful.
