FC Nurnberg open their Group A campaign against Everton this Thursday in their UEFA Cup clash. Everton have already kicked off their campaign in style with a 3-1 win over FC Larissa at Goodison Park.

Tim Cahill had scored for the Toffees on his return from injury as they began their UEFA Cup season on a high note. Lee Osman and Anichebe were the other scorers for Everton that night. Everton manager David Moyes will be hoping his side can repeat the same performance against Nürnberg. Nürnberg will be itching to prove themselves following their untimely exit from the German Cup. They lost to FC Carl Zeiss Jena on penalties in the second round itself.

Manager Hans Meyer will not have liked that one bit given the fact that Nürnberg were the holders of the German Cup. He will be hoping for a better performance in the UEFA Cup and will see the competition as a chance for his team to redeem themselves.

Everton on the other hand have a settled look about them and have done fairly well in the Premier League as well where they are placed eighth. There was good news for Everton as England striker Andrew Johnson has agreed to a deal that will keep him at Goodison Park for the next five years.

The 26-year-old was reported to be moving to rivals West Ham in January, but has now signed a long-term deal with Everton. For the Toffees, Anichebe and Lescott have top scored in the UEFA Cup so far with 2 goals each.

Everton are currently on top of Group A in the UEFA Cup with 3 points from their solitary game so far. Watch Nürnberg v Everton live on free-football.tv.
