The Bafana Bafana have put in some indifferent performances of late and that has heaped pressure on coach Joel Santana as he strives to get his team ready for the World Cup 2010 at home next year. Santana has again left out Benni McCarthy and Nasief Morris from his squad. Experts had predicted the pair would return to the squad after a string of bad results saw the team struggle.

Santana has called up Siyabonga Sangweni and striker Sthembiso Ngcobo. However midfielder Steven Pienaar is out of the squad after suffering severe bruising at the hands of international captain Aaron Mokoena in a premier league clash last month.

Franklin Cale of Ajax Cape Town has been called up as a replacement. Anele Ngcongca has withdraws due to a family bereavement and Thabo Nthethe has been called up to the squad as his replacement.

Meanwhile Norway coach Egil Olsen has handed call ups to Kristofer Haestad and Morten Moldskred and has opted to rest five players who won World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Macedonia last month. However striker John Carew is included in the squad after missing his side's friendly game against the same opposition in March this year.
