Scotland manager George Burley is confident his side is still in with a chance to book a ticket to South Africa next year. This, despite the fact that his team is second in Group 9 and faces a tough few games as the qualification campaign enters its final phase.

However Burley is dealing with a surfeit of injuries as Stephen McManus, Gary Naysmith and Kirk Broadfoot are all absent with various ailments. He has called up Steven Caldwell, Callum Davidson and Steven Whittaker as replacements.

With Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor exiled from international football, the Scotland team wears a threadbare look as Chris Iwelumo, James Morrison and Barry Robson are also absent with injuries. Goalkeeper Craig Gordon is injured and his place will be taken up by Neil Alexander or Jamie Langfield. Rangers striker Steven Naismith has also been called up for this game.

Meanwhile Norway must win this game if they are to entertain any hopes of going through. The Nordic nation has had a torrid time in the qualification campaign. Norway is currently bottom of Group 9 with 3 points from five games played so far.
