Norway v Turkey LiveIt's a tense Group C Euro 2008 qualifying clash when Turkey visit Oslo to take on Norway on November 17. Both Norway and Turkey have a realistic chance of grabbing a place in Austria and Switzerland next year.
Although Norway lead Turkey by two points, they will be aware that a defeat in Oslo will set them back hugely. Norway coach Åge Hareide has named a strong squad to take on Turkey and Malta in their final games.
Martin Andresen and John Carew make a comeback to the team despite the fact that the former may not play with a knee injury. Hareide said that Andersen had a slim chance of recovering in time, but that it was enough to include him. John Carew was recently named Norwegian Player of the Year and the coach is keen that the big forward makes a mark on the international arena as well.
Turkey coach Fatih Terim on the other hand has included five new players in his 24-man squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Norway and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Defenders Sedat Bayrak, İbrahim Kaş and Gökhan Gönül make their debut for Turkey, while Semih Şentürk and defender Hayrettin Yerlikaya are also included in the squad.
İbrahim Toraman and İbrahim Üzülmez are omitted from the squad, while defender Gökhan Zan is out with a foot injury. Mehmet Topuz is out with a shoulder injury. Turkey need to win their last two games if they are to qualify for the finals of Euro 2008.
Norway are second in Group C with 20 points from 10 games, while Turkey are third with 18 points from 10 games. Watch Norway v Turkey Live on free-football.tv. Tags: Euro 2008 qualifying, Norway, Turkey, Euro 2008 qualifiers, Euro 2008, Turkey Live Posted: |
