The Super Eagles shot themselves in the foot as they lost 2-1 to Greece in their last game. They were in control of the game after Kalu Uche’s free kick had caught Greek keeper Alexandros Tzorvas unawares in the 16^th minute. However Sanu Kaita’s moment of madness, where he attempted a Kung Fu kick on Greece’s Torosidis and got his marching orders from the referee, turned the match on its head.

Greece first equalised through Dimitris Salpingidis and then snatched the winner through Torosidis. Nigerian keeper Vincent Enyeama, arguably their best player of the tournament, spilt Alexandros Tziolis’s effort and a gleeful Torosidis pounced on the rebound to give Greece their first ever win in World Cup history.

South Korea were thrashed 4-1 by Argentina in their last game although the game could have had a different result had Yeom Ki-hun capitalised on his 57^th minute opportunity. With Argentina leading 2-1, Ki-Hun was one on one with opposition keeper Romero, but was only able to hit the side netting. Both Korea and Greece have the same goal difference going into the last round of fixtures.
