North Korea will be looking to maintain their good form prior to the start of their World Cup campaign by securing a victory over Nigeria when the two teams play in an international friendly on Sunday. North Korea started their preparations for the World Cup with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Paraguay though Kim Jong-Hun’s side put up a good performance against the South American side. It was followed up by a thrilling 2-2 draw against Greece with North Korea twice coming back from behind thanks to a brace from Jong Tae-se.

With Jong-Hun picking up just two keepers in his 23-man squad, FIFA ruled that striker Kim Myong-Won could play in the competition only as a goalkeeper. Myong-Won was named as the third keeper in the 23-man squad with North Korea looking to boost their attacking options but with the tournament rules stating that each squad should contain at least three keepers, the Amrokgang’s striker could only take to the field as a keeper.

Meanwhile Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback has named his final squad for the World Cup with Ike Uche, Victor Anichebe, Peter Utaka, Onyekachi Apam, Brown Ideye, Bassey Akpan and Terna Suswan missing out.
