The Dutch started their World Cup preparations with a narrow 2-1 win over Mexico but turned on the style on Wednesday as they secured a thumping 4-1 win over Ghana. Goals from Dirk Kuyt and Rafael van der Vaart had given Netherlands a comfortable 2-0 lead midway through the second half and though Ghana reduced the deficit, Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie found the back of the net to complete a comfortable victory for their side.

Having named his 23-man squad for the World Cup, coach Bert van Marwijk will now be looking forward to getting his tactics right before the Dutch kick off their World Cup campaign against Denmark.

Meanwhile Hungary will be looking to improve on their poor showing against Germany from last weekend and provide a stern test for Netherlands. Erwin Koeman’s side suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat as they were completely outplayed by Germany at the Ferenc Puskas Stadion last weekend.
