There is still no place for Michael Owen in the England squad as coach Fabio Capello trimmed his team for this Wednesday's friendly against Netherlands. Tune into our dedicated member's area to watch the game live. Live Sport Network is the number one source for live streaming football online with over 50,000 members. The Italian manager feels Owen still has to play regularly and score more goals although he acknowledged the door was still open for the England ace. Fabio Capello was on hand to watch the Community Shield game and saw Owen come on for just a few minutes for Manchester United.
Wayne Rooney, Emile Heskey, Jermain Defoe and Carlton Cole are the four strikers in Capello's 23-man squad for the Dutch friendly. This means there is no place for Peter Crouch, who has openly admitted he fears for his England future under Capello. David James has been omitted from the squad due to a knee injury, which means Ben Foster will have to compete with Robert Greene and Paul Robinson for the goalkeeper's place in this game.
England are on the brink of qualifying for next year's world cup having notched up seven wins in seven games. They next take on Slovenia in another friendly before clashing against Croatia in their next world cup qualifier in September.
Meanwhile Netherlands have already qualified for the world cup 2010 and coach Bert van Marwijk can afford to leave out experienced named and try new players in this game. Piet Velthuizen replaces Henk Timmer as the goalkeeper, while Eljero Elia misses out with a knee injury.
