Netherlands have what is arguably the best strike-force on display in Euro 2008 football this year. With big stage performers like Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Klas Jan Huntelar, the Oranje can expect to be involved in the business end of the competition.

However as coach Marco Van Basten is achingly aware, things can fall apart very quickly as they did in the FIFA World Cup in 2006. Star striker Robin van Persie may miss the Wales match up as he has not yet fully recovered from a thigh injury.

The 24-year-old Van Persie was the highest goal scorer for Netherlands during the qualifiers.

Wales come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Iceland. Debutant Ched Evans fired the Welsh team home, in what was a fantastic, but fluke strike. Wales boss John Toshack however is dealing with multiple injury concerns ahead of this game.

Carl Fletcher and Owain Tudur Jones injured their ankles during the Iceland game and are out for some time to come. However Toshack will be heartened by the return of Carl Robinson and has included reinforcements in the form of Boaz Myhill and Sam Ricketts.
