Netherlands v Luxembourg LiveNetherlands will be looking to clinch their qualification to next year's Euro 2008 finals with a convincing victory over Luxembourg when the two teams meet in their next qualifier match on Saturday.
With Romania already clinching qualification to the tournament, Netherlands and Bulgaria will have to battle it out to book the second available qualification spot. The Dutch are favorites to go through and are positioned second in Group G with 23 points from 10 matches and need just two more points to confirm their place.
Coach Marco van Basten has named a strong squad for the final two matches against Luxembourg and Belarus, welcoming back striker Rudd van Nistelrooy, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Joris Mathijsen who were suspended for the last match against Slovenia. Edwin van der Sar, Nigel de Jong, Dirk Kuyt and Mario Melchiot too find a place in the 24-man squad after recovering from their injuries while Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie are out with a hamstring and knee injuries.
Meanwhile Luxembourg will be looking to build on their last month's victory over Belarus that saw them clinch their first win of the campaign. Coach Guy Hellers will be delighted with the result and is hoping that his team can once again spring up a surprise in their last match against the Netherlands.
Defender Jeff Strasser has been recalled into the squad after recovering from injury to his knee ligaments and is the only change in the 21-man squad called up by Hellers. With Luxembourg certain to finish bottom of Group G, Hellers will be looking for a determined performance when his team lines up against the Dutch this weekend.
