Nantes were one of the three teams to be promoted from Ligue 2 in the 2007-08 season, the others being Grenoble and Le Havre. The Canaries have collected sixteen points from fifteen games so far, and ended their six game winless run last week when they beat Le Havre 2-0 away. Both the goals came in the second half, with Filip Djordjevic and David De Freitas scoring. Unfortunately for Nantes, Ivan Klasnic has not had the impact he was expected to. The former Werder Bremen striker has not been able to reproduce his Bundesliga form, and Nantes have only managed to score 12 times all season.

 

 

Lyon were held to a goalless draw by Valenciennes in pouring conditions last week, with opposition keeper Nicolas Penneteau emerging as the hero for Valenciennes. Coach Claude Le Puel would have been happy to see his side emerge injury free after the game, especially with the long list they currently have. Striker Karim Benzema is the biggest absentee, with Mathieu Bodmer, Francois Clerc, Anthony Réveillère and Sebastien Faure also out. Puel is likely to continue with John Mensah at right back, with Cris and Boumsong in the centre. With Benzema absent and Juninho suspended, Lyon will now have to rely on the likes of Fred, Jean Makoun and Sidney Govou to score.
