Nancy’s two game winning streak in the league was brought to an abrupt halt by Lille in December. The visitors crushed Les Chardons 4-0. Eden Hazard opened the scoring for Lille in the 42^nd minute, and the prolific Gervinho made it 2-0 shortly after the lemon break. Half time substitute Joel Sami barely lasted fifteen minutes as he was sent off for a foul on Pierre Alain Frau. Frau himself converted the spot kick to end Nancy’s chances of getting anything from the game.

There was still a fourth to come though, as Gervinho netted his second after some good work from goal scorer Hazard and Ludovic Obraniak. Nancy have the worst home record among the teams currently sitting in the bottom half of the table. Pablo Correa’s men have collected only ten points out of a possible 27 at home this season.

This season has not gone according to plan for Lyon. OL’s chances of regaining the title from Bordeaux look slim at this stage of the 2009-10 campaign- they are thirteen points behind Les Girondins. Coach Claude Puel has even said that he would be happy with a second placed finish.

Since their win over Saint-Etienne in October, Lyon have triumphed just once in eight league games. This poor run of form has seen OL slip to sixth in the table. Croatian international defender Dejan Lovren could make his league debut for Lyon this weekend.
