Greece will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Switzerland and get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track when they take on Moldova in their next match this Wednesday. The Euro 2004 champions were sitting comfortably at the top of the group table before their game against Switzerland but a disappointing 2-0 defeat meant that Greece is now three points behind the Swiss and have a fight on hand if they are to at least qualify for the play-offs.

Greece had managed to put up a sound defensive performance at the start of the match and even though Loukas Vintra was sent off, Switzerland struggled to create any chances. Just when it looked as if Greece had managed to avoid a defeat, two late goals in space of five minutes by Stephane Grichting and Marco Padalino ensured that the Greeks left Switzerland empty handed.

However Greece are expected to secure a comfortable victory on Wednesday with Moldova already eliminated from the qualifying campaign and yet to win a game in seven attempts.

Moldova has managed to draw just two games with last of them coming on Saturday when they held Luxembourg to a 0-0 draw. Greece has already beaten Moldova 3-0 early in the campaign with Angelos Charisteas scoring a brace while Kostas Katsouranis added the third.
