West Ham will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat in the Premier League on Saturday and secure their passage to the quarter finals of the FA Cup with a comfortable victory in their fifth round replay against Middlesbrough on Wednesday. The Hammers suffered their second straight league defeat to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday with Matthew Taylor and Kevin Davies giving Bolton an early 2-0 lead and though West Ham improved in the second half to reduce the deficit through Scott Parker, Bolton hung on to claim all three points from the game.

While the defeat leaves West Ham still in the top half of the table, manager Gianfranco Zola will be looking for a strong run in the FA Cup as he looks to help West Ham qualify for their first FA Cup final in three years.

 

 

West Ham should have an easy task at hand with Middlesbrough struggling to secure a victory. Boro have won just once in their last 17 games and the lone victory came against Wolves in the FA Cup fourth round clash. With his side wedged deep in the relegation zone, manager Gareth Southgate is expected to give priority to Boro's Premier League survival and could rest a number of key players keeping one eye on a tough home encounter against Liverpool next weekend.
