Middlesbrough welcome hapless Derby County to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday hoping to collect another three points and distance themselves away from what is looking like an increasingly ugly relegation battle in the Premier League.

Boro are currently a comfortable 6 points above relegation and manager Gareth Southgate will be hoping they can move further away from there. In their last live Premier League game, Boro held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Gunners striker Jeremie Aliadiere put Boro ahead in the 25th minute and it looked like the goal would give Middlesbrough their second win over Arsenal this season. The draw took Boro to the 13th spot on the Premiership table.

Fabio Rochemback and Julio Arca are available for selection for the Derby game, but Southgate might continue with George Boateng and Mohamed Shawky. Andrew Taylor has recovered from his foot injury, but might not feature in this game because of lack of match practice.

Meanwhile Derby County acquitted themselves with dignity in their last game Premier League live against Manchester United. The Rams held on despite plenty of attacks from United's vaunted strike force and only a late goal from Cristiano Ronaldo gave the Red Devils a win.

Manager Paul Jewell has already set his sights on preparing his side for the Championship next season. Alan Stubbs is yet to recover from his calf injury, while Tyrone Mears and Claude Davis continue to be sidelined. Stephen Pearson is also struggling with a stomach injury and faces a late fitness test.
