With just four games to go before the Premiership season ends, it is beginning to look like Bolton are destined for the drop. However they will still want to win this weekend against Middlesbrough if only to ensure that they have the points if and when required at the end of the season.

Middlesbrough have almost secured a mid-table position, which will please their manager Gareth Southgate as it was looking like the side would be involved in a relegation battle early in the season. In their last game, Boro held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw thanks to a Stewart Downing goal, which nullified Jon Grounds' own goal.

The draw sees Boro occupy the 13th spot on the league table with 36 points from 34 games. Robert Huth is the only injury concern with a foot issue.

Bolton meanwhile gave themselves every chance of staying up with a 1-0 win over West Ham in their last game. Kevin Davies was the lone goal scorer in the game. The win took the Trotters to within 2 points of leapfrogging Birmingham City to the 17th spot.

Bolton manager Gary Megson will be hoping his side can manage at least another couple of wins so that they can make a dash for safety. Ricardo Gardner, Nicky Hunt and Jussi Jaaskelainen are still sidelined, while Joey O'Brien is battling a hamstring injury.

Ivan Campo and Kevin Nolan are due to return though although Campo might not make it to the starting line-up. Last season Middlesbrough clinched this fixture 5-1, but their reverse fixture this season ended in a 0-0 draw.
