Mexico are on a high having won the Gold Cup after beating the United States 5-0 in the final. However new boss Javier Aguirre has his feet firmly on the ground as he seeks to improve his team’s current fourth place position in the CONCACAF standings.

The El Tri squad for the U.S. game includes 12 members who featured in the spectacular Gold Cup win last month. Guillermo Ochoa and Jose de Jesus Corona; Efrain Juarez, Jose Antonio Castro, Jonny Magallon, Israel Castro, Gerardo Torrado and Alberto Medina, Miguel Sabah, Giovani Dos Santos, Carlos Vela and Guillermo Franco retain their places in the senior squad.

Aguirre has also called up Andres Guardado Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Nery Castillo for this game. These three players did not feature in the Gold Cup.

Meanwhile US coach Bob Bradley has named a 20-man squad for this game with the focus being on getting the elusive win on Mexican soil that would help enormously as he seeks to guide his side to South Africa.

Much will depend on Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan as well as keeper Tim Howard if the US is to upset Mexico's applecart in this game. The team is currently second behind Costa Rica in the CONCACAF standings.
