Honduras will be looking to register a second straight win over Mexico when the two teams meet in their fourth round World Cup qualifying match on Wednesday. Watch all the live World Cup qualifcation action here on Live Sport Network

Surprise leaders of the table, Honduras have had an excellent qualifying campaign and will at the least qualify for the play-offs if they collect all three points against Mexico on Wednesday. Los Catrachos have already registered a comfortable victory over Mexico with Carlo Costly scoring a brace while Carlos Pavon added the third in their 3-1 win early in the campaign.

Honduras go into the match high on confidence following their 4-1 thrashing of Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday. Pavon scored two goals while Amado Guevara and David Suazo grabbed one goal each before Kerry Baptiste scored a consolation goal for Trinidad.

Mexico on the other hand have struggled badly in their campaign while they have all but confirmed their participation in at least the play-offs, fans will be expecting their side to improve in the final three games and qualify directly to the World Cup rather than face the anxiety of play-offs.

Javier Aguirre’s side completed a comfortable 3-0 win over Costa Rica on Saturday with Giovani dos Santos, Guillermo Franco and Andres Guardado hitting the back of the net.

The result means Mexico have won their last three matches including a 2-1 win over United States and Aguirre will be hoping to maintain the form for the remainder of the qualifying campaign starting with a victory over Honduras on Wednesday.
