Mexico will be looking to recover from their disappointing performance by securing a comfortable victory over Gambia when the two teams play in an international friendly game on Sunday. With his side set to face off against Uruguay and France for a place in the knockout stages of the World Cup, Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was hoping to make a statement of intent by leading his side to a victory over Netherlands on Tuesday. However a brace from Robin Van Persie allowed Netherlands to secure a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first half before Manchester United bound striker Javier Hernandez managed to grab a consolation goal late in the game.

Javier Aguirre will be hoping that his side can improve on that performance by thrashing Gambia and put up good performances against Spain and Italy in their final two friendlies before starting their World Cup campaign against hosts South Africa on June 11.

Hernandez is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup after impressing Aguirre while Giovani Dos Santos and Carlos Vela could start the game after been benched for the game against the Dutch.
