Manchester United will kick off their 2010 North American tour this weekend when they meet Scottish giants Celtic at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Sign up today with Live Sport Network and see the pre-season friendly between Man United and Celtic online as it happens.

 

United have named a strong 22 member squad for their North American tour. The squad has experience in the form of Edwin Van der Sar, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes as well as exciting youngsters like Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley and Corry Evans.

Captain Gary Neville’s calf muscle injury has kept him at home while new Mexican signing Javier Hernandez will link up later with his team mates. Other injured players not travelling include Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen. Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Park Ji Sung have been given rest to recover from their World Cup exertions.

This is Celtic’s second game of their American tour. They played against Philadelphia Union on Wednesday evening. The Hoops have chosen not to travel with Aiden McGeady and Niall McGinn, but new signing Joe Ledley is in the squad.
