A poor start to the season has seen United sit just one point out of the relegation zone but having done away with Chelsea and Liverpool in their opening four matches, manager Alex Ferguson will now be looking forward for a string of good performances that will see them move up the table.

 

 

United came away with a point against Chelsea last weekend with Park Ji Sung putting the defending champions in the lead before Salomon Kalou grabbed an equalizer with 10 minutes to spare. Ferguson will be satisfied with a point though he admitted that he was hoping for all three points with his side creating more chances than the hosts.

Ferguson will be confident of collecting all three points against a Bolton Wanderers side that has managed just one win in their five matches played so far. Following their 3-1 victory over Stoke City on the opening day of the season, Bolton have floundered badly to manage just one draw in their last five matches in all competitions which included a 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town in the Carling Cup.

 

 

Bolton have lost in all of their last five visits to Old Trafford, managing to score just two goals and conceding 16 in the process. The Trotters go into the match following a 3-1 drubbing by Arsenal last weekend.

Bolton had started the game brightly and took a shock lead through Kevin Davis early in the first half but goals from Emmanuel Eboue, Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson condemned Gary Megson's side to a second straight defeat in the league.
