Manchester United will be hoping to emulate their 7-1 thrashing of Roma when the two teams meet in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final clash on Wednesday.

United had decimated Roma 7-1 when the two teams met at Old Trafford in last season's quarter finals. Roma look to have improved since then as they lost 1-0 in the group stage and managed to hold United to a 1-1 draw at home. However United go into this match with one step in the semi final after beating Roma 2-0 in the first leg last week. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for United in the 39th minute before Wayne Rooney doubled the lead in the 64th minute to propel United to a comfortable victory in Rome.

Roma face a daunting task to overturn the deficit with United yet to lose a European match at home for the past three years. The English champions have won all of their four matches at home this season conceding just one goal in the process and are favorites to go through to the semi finals. Roma's previous victory on English soil came back in 2000 when they beat Liverpool 1-0 in the UEFA Cup. The Italian club has not won a two-legged fixture against an English side in their last four attempts and will have to be at their very best if they are to have any hopes of dumping United out of the Champions League.
