Manchester United were below par in the first leg at Pride Park, and were unable to break down Derby, who are currently in the bottom half of the Championship table. Carlos Tevez in particular had a poor game, which did his chances of making his stay at United permanent no good at all. Kris Commons was the hero for Derby in the first leg, scoring a screamer which eventually proved to the difference between the two sides. He enjoyed his role in the hole behind Rob Hulse, and was full of energy and enthusiasm. Miles Addison and veteran Andy Todd were brilliant too.
