Manchester United are clear favorites to secure a place in their second straight Champions League finals when they welcome Arsenal in their semi final first leg clash on Wednesday. The Red Devils are aiming to become the first defending champions to have successfully qualified for a second straight European final in more than 13 years as they look to maintain their challenge to claim a fourth Champions League crown.

Manager Alex Ferguson will have no problem in motivating his team, knowing that a positive result in the first leg will further increase the pressure on Arsenal who will be desperately fighting to claim their first trophy in four years.

Arsenal on the other hand have won just one game on the road in the UEFA Champions League, a 5-2 win away to Fenerbahce during the group stage and have since then lost two of their three games away from the Emirates Stadium. Wenger will be hoping that United maintain their poor record in the semi finals of the tournament with Ferguson's side winning just three of their 10 semi final meetings while Arsenal managed to secure a win the only time they made it this far in the tournament, a 1-0 win over Villarreal during the 2005-06 season.
