Just one win in their last nine matches has seen Man City slip into the relegation zone. For a side that has been talking about Champions League football, pressure will be very high on the players to deliver on the pitch as they look to climb out of the relegation zone with a win over Hull City.

The Citizens suffered their third defeat in four matches thanks to another late goal last weekend that saw West Bromwich Albion claim all three points from the tie. Luke Moore had opened the scoring for West Brom in the 69th minute but City looked to have snatched a point when they equalized through an own goal by Scott Carson. However with just seconds remaining on the clock, Roman Bednar headed home the winner to snatch all three points for his side.

 

 

The defeat saw fresh calls for Mark Hughes' head by the supporters but the former Blackburn Rovers manager revealed that he has been assured of his place and will be given a chance to mould his team in the January transfer window.

Hull City on the other hand will be delighted with their progress so far this season. Tipped as one of the teams certain to be relegated this season, Hull find themselves sitting sixth in the league table with half of the season gone. Manager Phil Brown will be pleased with his side's performances so far this season and fans will be hoping that their side will manage to keep up their form for the remainder of the season and challenge for a place in Europe next season.

 

 

However recent performances have seen a dip in form for the Tigers. Hull have managed just one win in their last five matches and suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Sunderland last weekend. Brown expressed his disappointment over Hull's poor performance and added that he will be looking to make sure that his side does not get over confident as the season progresses.
