City delivered a severe blow to Liverpool’s chances of ending the season as champions when they drew 1-1 with the Reds at Anfield. Craig Bellamy scored the opener for City, with Dirk Kuyt rescuing a point for Liverpool late in the game. Copenhagen beat Helsingborg in a weekend friendly. Striker Morten Nordstrand scored a whopping five goals as they thrashed the Swedish club 5-2. With City having got two away goals, Copenhagen will need to win outright in order to qualify for the next round.

Copenhagen coach Stale Solbakken will ask his players to look at FC Midtjylland for inspiration. Midtjylland beat Man City 1-0 at Eastlands in a qualifying tie.
