Manchester City are currently placed 14th on the table with 18 points from 16 games. With a deluge of games coming up during Christmas, Manchester City manager Mark Hughes knows his side can ill-afford to drop any points.

Last week the club dropped two points against Fulham as they were held to a 1-1 draw. Benjani Mwaruwari had headed City in front after just 6 minutes and just when it appeared the goal was enough to collect all three points, Jimmy Bullard equalized to give Fulham a point.

 

 

City are also coming off a 0-0 draw against PSG in the UEFA Cup during the mid-week.

Meanwhile Everton were desperately unlucky to lose 2-3 to Aston Villa last week. Steve Sidwell had given Villa the lead in the first minute, but Joleon Lescott pulled it back for the Toffees. Ashley Young scored off a bad back pass from Phil Jagielka, but Lescott equalized again.

 

 

However Villa snatched a win during injury time when Young shot home in the last minute. Everton boss David Moyes is dealing with injuries to key players including strikers Louis Saha, Yakubu and James Vaughan all out injured. Yakubu is out for the season with an Achilles tendon rupture, but Saha is expected to be back shortly. Victor Anichebe is the only fit striker at Goodison Park.
