Manchester City will be looking to avoid any last minute hiccups when they take on Faroe Island club EB Streymur in the second leg of their UEFA Cup first qualifying round clash at the City of Manchester Stadium on Thursday. The Citizens go into the game with a comfortable 2-0 victory away to Streymur in the first leg and will be confident of their progress to the second qualifying round of the tournament. City took the lead through Martin Petrov early in the first half and the Bulgarian international impressed throughout the match with Streymur struggling to cope with Petrov's pace and tricks.

Dietmar Hamann doubled the lead for the visitors near the half hour mark, propelling his side to a comfortable victory. However City should have had won the game by a larger margin but took the foot off the pedal in the second half allowing Streymur to create a couple of chances which were easily handled by Joe Hart.

Brazilian striker Jo was handed his debut start for the club but was unable to mark the occasion with a goal. Having booked their place in the UEFA Cup thanks to their good disciplinary record last season, manager Mark Hughes will be hoping to make the most of the opportunity and make it at least to the group stage of the competition.
