City took full advantage of Tottenham’s defeat to Sunderland last weekend to register a thumping 6-1 win over Burnley and move to fourth in the league table. Emmanuel Adebayor scored a brace for City while Carlos Tevez, Craig Bellamy, Patrick Vieira and Vincent Kompany were also on target for the Citizens.

Manager Roberto Mancini was happy with his side’s display and expressed hope that both Adebayor and Tevez will continue their scoring run for the remainder of the season. With his side scheduled to face Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur in their next four games, Mancini will be aware that his side can ill afford any slip ups if they are to finish fourth come the end of the season.

Meanwhile Birmingham City will be looking to maintain their recent good form that has seen them collect a point each against Arsenal and Liverpool. With a number of his players out of contract in the summer, manager Alex McLeish revealed that the players’ future will be depending on how they will perform for the remainder of the season.
