Malta v Norway Live
Norway travel to Malta on November 21 with the full knowledge that they might have blown their chance of qualifying for the Euro 2008 finals. They slipped up 1-2 to Turkey in Oslo on November 17. Nevertheless they will want to secure a win against Malta at the Ta' Qali stadium in Ta' Qali and hope Bosnia-Herzegovina do them a favor by either beating or holding Turkey to a draw.
Erik Hagen had sent home fans into a delirium after his fine goal on 12 minutes, but Turkey hit back through Emre Belözoglu and Nihat Kahveci to throw water on Norway's hopes. Norway coach Åge Hareide has a strong squad at his disposal and will hope his side can get the job done against Malta on November 21.
Midfielder Christian Grindheim missed the Turkey clash with a knee injury and it is unclear if he will be fit for the Malta game. His place was taken by Kristofer Hæstad and it looks likely he will be in for the Malta clash as well.
Martin Andresen and John Carew make a comeback to the team despite the fact that the former may not play with a knee injury. Carew showed fine form against Turkey, but was unable to score despite have some chances.
Malta on the other hand have bottomed out in their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign and their misery was compounded by a 5-0 trashing at Greece on November 17. Theofanis Gekas scored a hat-trick in that game, while Angelos Basinas and Ioannis Amanatidis netted in the other two goals fro the defending Euro champions.
For Malta Captain Gilbert Agius is out with an undisclosed injury, while Luke Dimech and Ivan Woods may make a comeback in this last Euro 2008 qualifying game against Norway. Malta coach Dušan Fitzel will hope his team can end their miserable campaign on a high note.
