Last weekend’s 3-2 victory for Atletico Madrid against Villarreal meant that they have now taken seven points from top four teams in the last three games (Villarreal 3-2, Real 1-1 and Barcelona 4-3). Last weekend’s great win for Atletico helped them up to fifth position in the La Liga table with 43 points. A goal in the very next minute though from Aguero gave them a glimmer of hope and when Forlan popped up in the 81^st minute with an equaliser, the fans went wild. This was nothing compared to a couple of minutes later when Madrid amazingly scored a third through Antonio Lopez. The comeback was complete and the fourth spot now looks invitingly close.

Mallorca, for their part, also came through an exciting game last weekend. They were away to Espanyol and the final score of 3-3 reflects the exciting game that took place. Mallorca will be kicking themselves though as they actually managed to take a 3-1 lead in the game, but were finally pegged back by a great comeback from the home team.
