Lyon drew their Peace Cup opener against Turkey's Besiktas. Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom, who had rescued OL in their pre-season friendly against Lens, broke the deadlock with twenty minutes left on the clock, only for Bert Norbre to snatch a late equaliser for Besiktas in the 85^th minute.

One saw two ex-Porto men in action against Besiktas, and Monday will be the first occasion when they will face their former club. Both Aly Cissokho and Lisandro Lopez, who played in Lyon's Peace Cup opener, are expected to feature for Les Gones against Porto.

 

 

Several influential players have left Porto this summer. Apart from Cissokho and Lopez, the Portuguese giants have also bid adieu to midfielders Lucho Gonzalez and Ibson. Youngster Paulo Machado has left the Dragons for Ligue 1 side Toulouse. Porto have signed defender Alvaro Pereira from CFR Cluj. The Argentine pair of Fernando Belluschi and Diego Valeri have arrived from Olympiakos and Lanus respectively, while Falcao has been acquired from River Plate.

Porto have won their last four pre-season friendlies, the last of which was against Dinamo Bucharest. Striker Silvestre Varela, a summer arrival from Estrela da Amadora, scored the only goal of the game. Brazilian Hulk will be a danger man for the OL back four, who will also be keeping their eye on Cristian Rodriguez and Mariano Gonzalez.
