Week 33’s most important Ligue 1 game sees defending champions Olympique Lyon host fourth placed Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Gerland. Claude Puel’s men were beaten by Bordeaux last week, and slipped to third as a result, and a loss to PSG could see them move out of the Champions League qualifying spots. Lyon lost 1-0 to Bordeaux last week. Aliou Diarra’s first half goal proved to be the difference between the two sides, and Les Gones are now four points behind league leaders Marseille. Lyon will however feel hard done by the decisions taken by referee Stephane Bre.

Bre failed to give Lyon penalties on two occasions. One was when Ederson was fouled in the box, and the other was when a Bordeaux player appeared to handle Juninho’s free kick. Should OL lose to PSG, they’ll not only lose their third place, but will also come under pressure from the likes of Toulouse and Lille.

PSG recovered from a disappointing performance against Dynamo Kiev in the UEFA Cup as they beat Le Havre 3-0 last week. Ludovic Giuly scored the opener with five minutes left in the first half, with Jerome Rothen and Guilliaume Hoarau netting in the second half.

At this moment PSG’s Champions League fate rests in their own hands, and they are also in the running for the Ligue 1 title. Midfielder Clement Chantome will miss this game because of a thigh injury.

When the two teams met in November, PSG won 1-0 in a game that saw Juninho get the marching orders from the referee. Can PSG do the double over the men from the Rhone Valley? Watch Olympique Lyon v PSG live to find out.
