Karim Benzema’s first half brace helped Lyon beat Marseille at the Stade Velodrome last week. Benzema put Lyon ahead from the spot after Brandao had brought Ederson down in the box, and doubled it just before half time by side footing Jeremy Toulalan’s through- ball home.

Caen are currently sixteenth in the table with 37 points, but Nancy, who are second from bottom, are just three points behind. Should Caen win this match, it could go a long way in ensuring survival as they have a better goal difference compared to the others involved in the relegation dogfight.
