Prior to the international break, the Milan derby was the talk of the town, but AC Milan were routed by defending Scudetto champions Inter 4-0. Goals from Thiago Motta, Diego Milito, Maicon and Dejan Stankovic gave Inter a facile win and left new AC Milan boss Leonardo with a huge task ahead in what is expected to be a difficult season for the team.

Livorno meanwhile will hope to use the break to recoup and get their season off to a decent start. The club has lost one game and drawn the other and are consequently placed in the bottom half of the table with just a single point to their name.

Before the break, Livorno were away to Napoli where they lost 3-1 with Fabio Quagliarella scoring a brace and Marek Hamsik grabbing the other goal for the hosts.
