The Reds hold a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg thanks to Yossi Benayoun's goal eight minutes from the final whistle. The win puts Liverpool in a pole position to qualify for the next round though Real Madrid manager Juande Ramos is confident that his side will be able to overturn the deficit and finally qualify to the quarter finals for the first time in last five years.

Manager Rafa Benitez has an excellent record in the competition with Liverpool and will be expecting to progress to the quarter finals though he could be without star striker Fernando Torres who is out with an ankle injury.
