In another Carling Cup game between a League One side and a Premiership outfit, Tony Pulis' Stoke City meet Leyton Orient in the second round of the competition on Wednesday evening at Brisbane Road. The O's halted their two match losing streak on Saturday as they drew 3-3 with Yeovil Town. Scott McGleish gave Orient the lead in the 5^th minute at Huish Park, only for Gavin Tomlin to equalise from the spot six minutes later. Jon Obika put the hosts ahead on 40 minutes, but the lead lasted all of two minutes as Anders Townsend replied for the East London outfit.

Danny Schofield put Yeovil 3-2 ahead shortly after the interval, but substitute Ryan Jarvis equalised just after the hour mark, as both teams settled for a point each. Leyton Orient beat Colchester to reach the second round of the live Carling Cup. Adrian Patulea and JJ Melligan were the scorers for Geraint Williams' side on that occasion.

Stoke recovered from their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool as they drew 0-0 with Birmingham City at St.Andrews on Saturday. Ricardo Fuller had a goal disallowed while Dave Kitson headed over from 12 yards. Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen produced a brilliant save to deny Garry O'Connor as the game ended in a stalemate.

James Beattie limped out of the game with a leg injury, and is not expected to travel to London. Tony Pulis may give several of his senior players a break, and we may get to see some of Stoke's reserve players in action in London.
