After racing to the top of their Champions League group with a fluent 4-0 win over Debrecen, Olympique Lyon return to league action as they take on Lens at Stade Felix-Bollaert this weekend. It was a disappointing performance from Les Sang et Or, who slipped to thirteenth in the table because of the result. Le Mans could have easily scored a few more, but Lens keeper Vedran Runje kept the margin of defeat respectable by producing some excellent saves. Frederic Thomas’ first half brace, combined with Anthony Le Tallec’s 62nd minute strike, was enough for Le Mans to claim a victory. Lens have now not won in over a month- their last league win was away at Grenoble in August.
Lyon beat TFC 2-1 at home last weekend. The visitors took a shock lead in the 7th minute when a bad piece of defending from Mathieu Bodmer allowed Mousa Sissoko to run down the right hand flank and into the box before firing one left footed past Hugo Lloris. Substitute Yannis Tafer equalised for OL on 52 minutes. The move started from keeper Lloris, and the ball came to left back Aly Cissokho, who crossed the ball for Tafer to volley past Yohann Pele in the TFC goal. Lyon continued to pile on the pressure, and finally made it count on 71 minutes. Kallstrom’s corner eventually arrived at the feet of Miralem Pjanic, whose attempt on goal was headed in by striker Bafetimbi Gomis from close range.
Pjanic, Gomis, Kallstrom and Sidney Govou were on target for OL in their 4-0 win over Debrecen on Tuesday night. Can OL pick up their sixth league win of the season this Saturday? Watch live streaming of Lens vs Lyon online to find out. ![]() Tags: Olympique Lyon, Lens, Lyon, Sidney Govou Posted: |
