Juventus failed to win for the fourth successive Serie A game last weekend, when they lost away to Napoli by 2-1; this despite taking a 61^st minute lead through Amauri. Worryingly for Juventus fans, the team now sit in twelve position in the league with only nine points; seven points off the pace. Not only has the team been inconsistent to say the least this season, they haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their seven league outings so far, indicating that there is a serious question mark over the attacking players. Manager Claudio Ranieri is hanging on to his job by his finger nails but a defeat in the derby will surely see him walk the plank.

Granted, the team has a horrendous injury list with the likes of David Trezeguet, Gianluigi Buffon, Jonathan Zebina, Mauro Camoranesi, Cristiano Zanetti, Tiago, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Nicola Legrottaglie and Olof Mellberg all out for one reason or another, with only the last three mentioned with any chance at all of playing on Saturday. But a team of the stature and size of Juventus should be able to cope with a large injury list, so the problem is an underlying one that will need to be sorted out sooner rather than later and whether that means a change in management remains to be seen.

Torino haven’t fared much better this season, losing at home to Cagliari last weekend with this result meaning they remain winless since the first game of the season when they beat Lecce 3-0 at home. They occupy seventeenth position in the league with only five points to show for their efforts but with Juventus also in poor form, will be hoping to nick something out of the bag at the weekend.
