Juventus have lost four of their last five games in all competitions including a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Bari last weekend. The Bianconeri needed a positive performance following their 4-1 drubbing by Bayern Munich but it was not to be as goals from Riccardo Meggiorini, Paulo Barreto and Sergio Almiron sealed the points for Bari.

The defeat sees Juventus slip six points behind Inter Milan in the race for the league title. While Inter too have looked short of confidence, coach Ciro Ferrara will be aware that his side cannot afford any more defeats if they are to have any chance of staging a tough title challenge this season.

Juve will be missing a number of key players with keeper Gianluigi Buffon deciding to undergo surgery. Buffon is joined on the treatment table with Amauri who is suffering from pharyngitis while Mauro Camoranesi is out for the rest of the season after tearing his muscle in the right leg.

Meanwhile Catania will be hoping to halt their losing streak and finally register a victory that could see them climb up from the bottom of the table. Catania having registered just one win in their 16 matches so far this season and need to drastically improve their form if they are somehow lift themselves out of the drop zone.

Catania suffered a third straight defeat last weekend as a Tomas Danilevicius goal two minutes from the final whistle was enough to hand Livorno vital three points from the game.
