Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, fullback Davide Santon, Andrea Esposito, defender Mattia Cassani, Marco Biagianti, Giuseppe Mascara, Daniele Galloppa and Sergio Pellissier are the new faces in Lippi's team. The 23-man squad for the upcoming Confederations Cup will be named later. ![]() Lippi has left out skipper Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Del Piero, Filippo Inzaghi and Antonio Cassano from his squad, although they may be recalled later. Some tight results in recent games have made Lippi look toward youth, but Gennaro Gattuso retains his spot despite only recently having recovered from knee surgery. The manager has also opted to rest a majority of the regulars and has named 10 new faces in his 19-man squad. ![]() David Healy, Damien Johnson and Grant McCann are the only experienced faces in this line-up. The new faces include Chris Casement, Shane Duffy, Shane Ferguson, Corry Evans, James Lawrie, Colin Coates, Martin Donnelly, Stephen Carson and Robert Garrett. Manchester United defender Craig Cathcart was also named in the squad, but has pulled out due to injury.
