The Azzurri booked their place in next year's World Cup finals in a comfortable fashion and with a number of Italian superstars slowly looking out of form, Lippi will be looking for some fresh blood that will strengthen the team as they look to become the first team to successfully defend their World Cup title in nearly four decades.

Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini has been called up to the national squad after impressing Lippi with seven goals so far this season. However Antonio Cassano continues to remain out of contention and the 27-year old looks likely to miss the World Cup next season.

Marco Marchionni, Christian Maggio, Domenico Criscito, Raffaele Palladino and Daniele Galloppa have also been called up to the squad along with Mattia Cassani, Davide Biondini and Antonio Candreva who could make their debut for Italy on Saturday.

Meanwhile Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk will be hoping that his side can maintain their winning streak with a comfortable victory over Italy on Saturday that will make a statement of intent regarding their chances in the World Cup next year. The Dutch were one of the only two teams that maintained a 100 percent record in the qualifying campaign, winning all of their eight group games.

Marwijk has called up Wout Brama for the friendly on Saturday with the Twente midfielder impressing the coach with a number of eye catching displays for his club. Demy de Zeeuw and David Mendes da Silva will not be available for selection after the duo withdrew from the squad due to injuries.
