Italy are the best side to take part in the competition, winning it five times with the latest victory coming back in 2004. However some poor performances in the last two editions saw Italy fail to make it out of the group stage.

But coach Pierluigi Casiraghi will be confident that his side will be able to overcome the poor performances and put up a good fight on Friday to first see off the challenge presented by Germany and move one step closer to lifting the trophy.

The Germans started their campaign with a credible 0-0 draw against Spain before a 2-0 win over Finland saw them move to second in the group table.

Needing at least a draw to book their place in the semi finals, Germany took the lead against England through Gonzalo Castro only for Jack Rodwell to equalize midway through the first half. While Germany have managed to collect the least number of points among the four semi finalists, coach Horst Hrubesch will be confident that his side will be able to qualify for their fourth final on Sunday at the Malmo New Stadium.
